Children have enjoyed a summer camp experience at Camp Hollis for more than 60 years. The camp will host open house events May 4 and June 8. Pictured are children on the merry-go-round in the early years. The public is invited to attend an open house at Camp Hollis from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 4 and Sunday, June 8. “Camp Hollis is a treasure for families and campers in Oswego County. This is a great opportunity for people to see the facility and experience camp life,” said Jim Farfaglia, senior youth services specialist with the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. “They can learn about our programs and participate in activities throughout the grounds by following a treasure map.” Planned activities include arts and crafts, nature hikes and basketball games. As a staple of camp life, sing-a-longs around the campfire will take place. Refreshments will be available for visitors. Located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the Town of Oswego, Camp Hollis has been a haven for campers for more than 60 years. It began as a program for local children to experience the joys of summer camp. Over the years, the facility has expanded to include a pool, a main building and additional cabins.
