Police Reports:
On 5/12/08 at 3:54 p.m., Bonnie L. Haney, 58, of 690 CR 54, Pennellville, NY was operating a 2004 Pontiac eastbound on CR 4 in the Town of Palermo when the vehicle reportedly drove off the south side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned. Unsafe lane changing seems to have been a contributing factor. Ms. Haney was transported to A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton.
On 5/12/08 at 5:59 p.m., Albert Teitlebaum, 70 , of 6280 Av. Westbury, Montreal, QC, was operating a 2008 Chrysler north bound on SR 48 in the Town of Albion, when at the intersection with CR 13 the vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with a 1997 Chevy driven by Lisa M. Skinner, 27 , of 9130 Howd Rd., Camden, NY. A passenger in Ms. Skinner's vehicle, Jeremy L. Skinner Sr., 32, was taken by ambulance to Rome Hospital. Unsafe speed and view obstruction seem to have been contributing factors.
On 5/13/08 at 3:48 p.m., Matthew K. Timian II, 19, of 852 US Rt 11 Bldg #Lot 144, Central Square, NY was arrested for Burglary, 3rd degree, a class D felony; Petit Larceny and No License after an investigation into an burglary in progress complaint at a Town of Mexico residence in which Mr. Timian and two other individuals were reportedly taking metal off the owner's property and from a storage building on the property. Also charged in the incident were Raysean M. Broadwater, 17, of 8054 Thompson Rd., Cicero, NY and Paul J. Reed, 22, of 5483 Catherine Rd. Apt. #B, Brewerton, NY, both with Burglary, 3rd and Petit Larceny. All three individuals were arraigned in the Town of Mexico Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $ 1000.00 cash or $2500.00 bail bond. They have a return date of 6/10/08 to the Town of Mexico Court.
On 5/14/08 Timothy J. Bristol, 30, of CR 43 Bldg # 132, Mexico, NY was arrested for Petit Larceny after the investigation into a larceny of motor vehicle parts complaint from a Town of Parish residence. Also charged in this incident with Petit Larceny, was a 16-year-old male residing in the Town of Parish. Both individuals were released on appearance tickets, returnable to the Town of Parish Court on 5/27/08.
On 5/14/08 at 12:48 p.m., Jeffrey Corbin, 35, of 739 CR 35, Mexico, NY was arrested for Rape, 3rd degree and Criminal Sex Act, 3rd degree, both class E felonies and Endangering the Welfare of a Child after the investigation into an incident where he reportedly had sexual relations with an individual less than 17 years of age at a Town of Palermo location. Mr. Corbin was arraigned before Oswego County Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $3000.00 cash or $6000.00 bail bond and scheduled to appear in the Town of Palermo Court on 5/19/08.
On 5/14/08 at 1:50 p.m., Kristin A. Keleher-Martin, 27, of 210 Lynbe Street, Watertown, NY was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, 3rd degree and Speed in Zone after a traffic stop on SR 104 in the Village of Mexico. Ms. Keleher-Martin was issued appearance tickets, returnable to the Town of Mexico Court on 5/27/08.
On 5/14/08, Michael A. Shuler, 39, of 1265 W. Genesee St. Apt # 206, Syracuse, NY was arrested for Menacing 3rd degree, a misdemeanor after the investigation into a complaint filed by an individual in which Mr. Shuler allegedly grabbed the individual by the wrist causing an abrasion and shoving her so hard she hit her head on the garage, resulting in a bump. Mr. Shuler was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Hastings Court on 5/28/08.

Oswego Woman Charged with Rape
On May 14, 2008, Jeanine M. Buske, 33, of 30 Hamilton Homes, Oswego, NY, was arrested at her residence, charged with two counts of Rape, Third Degree, a class E felony, and three counts of Endangering the Welfare, a class A misdemeanor. These charges are the result of an investigation that found cause to believe Ms. Buske had had sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old boy on multiple occasions and at multiple locations within the City of Oswego. On at least one occasion, Ms. Buske reportedly allowed a 15-year-old boy to witness the act.
Ms. Buske was further charged with one count each of Forgery, Third Degree; Criminal Impersonation, Second Degree; and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, all class A misdemeanors. These charges are the result of an investigation that found cause to believe Ms. Buske had portrayed herself as the mother of a 16-year-old boy to authorize a business in the City of Oswego to physically pierce the tongue of the child.
Ms. Buske was arraigned before the Hon. James Metcalf, Oswego City Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond. She is scheduled to return to court on June 19, 2008 to further answer these charges.

Sheriff's Office Investigates a Two-Car Motor Vehicle Accident
On 5/14/08 at approximately 9:58 a.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Creamery Road and County Route 1 in the Town of Scriba. Further investigation revealed a 2004 Subaru SUV traveling northbound on Creamery Road and driven by Ian Ryan, 21, of 4003 CR 4, Oswego, NY, failed to yield the right of way to a 2004 Jeep SUV traveling eastbound on CR 1 and driven by Mary K. O’Reilly, 29, of 293 SR 104 B, Mexico, NY. As a result, Mr. Ryan’s vehicle was struck in the driver’s door by Ms. O’Reilly’s vehicle. Mr. Ryan had to be extricated and was subsequently airlifted by Mercy Flight to University Hospital in Syracuse. Ms. O’Reilly was transported by ambulance to University Hospital as well. Members of the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department and the Novelis Fire Department assisted at the scene. The matter remains under investigation at this time.

Manslaughter Charge Filed by Sheriff's Office
On May 12, 2008, members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office charged Frank W. Ward, 45, of 171 Chapel Road, Oswego, New York, with Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, following an investigation into the death of Irene Doviak of the Town of Oswego. The arrest is the result of an investigation that began after Ms. Doviak was found dead in her home in November of 2007. An initial investigation led to Mr. Ward being charged with Assault in the First Degree, but further investigation and information revealed Ms. Doviak died as the result of the injuries allegedly inflicted upon her by Ward.
Mr. Ward was arraigned on the Manslaughter charge before the Hon. John J. Elliott, Acting Judge for Oswego Town Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail.
Mr. Ward has been incarcerated since his arrest in November of 2007.

Sheriff's Office Investigates Robbery in Mexico
On 1/28/08 at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a robbery at the Fast Trac gas station located on State Route 104 in the Village of Mexico. Upon investigation it was determined that a lone suspect entered the store, displayed a weapon, and instructed the clerk to give him the money. The suspect is described as a white male approximately 5’8” to 5’11” tall, weighing between 150 – 170 pounds, and between the ages of 18 and 25. UPDATE: Scriba Pit-Stop Robbery
Members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate a robbery that occurred at the Pit-Stop convenience store located at 3806 County Route 4 in the Town of Scriba on 1/14/08. Officers responded to the store at 8:15 p.m. when a clerk called Oswego County 911 to report that a white male had just displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. He is further described as being approximately 5’10” tall and weighing about 150 – 180 pounds. His age is not known. A dark sedan was seen in the area of County Route 4 and Hayfly Road in the Town of Scriba at the time of the incident between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. Assistance is requested from anyone who may have any information pertaining to the incident, the vehicle, or any pedestrian traffic during this time frame and are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (315) 349-3411.

Town of Scriba Robbery Under Investigation

Anyone with information, or any motorist in the area of County Route 4 and Hayfly Road in the Town of Scriba between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. that may have seen any pedestrian traffic, is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (315) 349-3411.

Sheriff's Office Investigates Unattended Death
On November 18th, 2007 the Oswego County Sheriff's Department was dispatched by the 911 Center to investigate a reported unattended death.
Subsequent investigation revealed that 54-year-old Irene Doviak of 171 Chapel Road in the Town of Oswego was deceased in her home. The circumstances surrounding her death were suspicious and the investigation continued.
On November 20th, 2007 Frank W. Ward, 45 years of age, of 171 Chapel Road, Oswego was arrested by Sheriff's Department Investigators and charged with one count of Assault in the first degree, a class B felony.
The investigation revealed that Doviak and Ward were not married, but lived together at 171 Chapel Road. The pair had no children in common. An altercation occurred at the residence on Saturday evening and Irene Doviak suffered injuries as a result of the altercation. Ward has been charged with inflicting those injuries.
The Oswego Town Fire Department, the Oswego County Coroner, and The Onondaga County Medical Examiners Office assisted Sheriff's Department members in the investigation.
Further autopsy results are forthcoming and the investigation by the Sheriff's Department is continuing.

Charles Atkinson Receives Promotion from Oswego County Sheriff's Office
Charles Atkinson (T/Scriba) was promoted to the rank of Patrol Officer-Sergeant with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office effective March 5, 2007. Shown in the picture, Sgt. Atkinson (center) is presented a Certificate of Promotion from Sheriff Reuel A. Todd (left) and Undersheriff Robert J. Lighthall (right). Sgt. Atkinson joined the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office as a Correction Officer on September 6, 1994 and was appointed to the position of Patrol Officer on November 15, 1999.
