Harborfest fireworks

Whether it's the thunderous roar of the Oswego Speedway Classic Weekend, the live raptor demonstrations at the Lake Ontario Bird Festival, or the medley of tastes and sounds at Oswego's Harborfest, you can find an exciting event happening somewhere in Oswego County at any time of the year!

  • AAA Paintball Park - A blast of fun with nitrogen, compressed air, and CO2 refills, the park features a fort, islands, a complete western town, and three lighted fields for night play. Catering facilities available, with pavilion, store, and snack bar. Open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday through Friday by appointment from April 1 through Nov. 30.   • Grampa Bob's Animal Park - Families will enjoy this petting zoo which features exotic birds and animals, pony rides, food, a playground, and a picnic area. Entrance is on Valley Rd. in Mexico, just south of Dry Bridge Rd.. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, May 11 to Oct. 27 (including Monday holidays). Admission charged. (315) 298-2347.

  • Red Planet Skateboard & BMX Park - Upstate New York's only indoor skateboard and bike park, pro shop. Open Tuesday through Friday from 3-8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Admission charged. (315) 343-6535.

  • Thunder Island Amusement Complex - Go-carts, miniature golf, water park, Ferris Wheel, games and food. Open weekends May 28-June 26, then daily through Labor Day. Oasis banquet and catering year round. Wilcox Rd. and NYS Rte. 48, Fulton. Free admission and parking. (315) 598-8016.

  • Tri-R Karts & Super Golf - Miniature golf, super go-karts, refreshments. Track and course rentals available, as well as birthday and party packages. Open weekends May and September, and daily June to August. NYS Rte. 3, Pulaski. (315) 298-RACE.

  • Willow Creek Farm Alpacas - Take a farm tour to get a close-up look at our adorable alpacas; visit our gift shop for items made from alpaca fleece, maple syrup and other items.

Farmers/Flea Markets

  • At the Farm -Open year-round. Antique shop open Wednesday through Friday, 12 noon to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; flea market open every weekend, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Featuring fine antiques & collectibles, tools, toys, glass, books and much more.   • Fulton Farmers' Market - The seasonal market is held every Saturday from June 2 through October 27, 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Canal Landing parking lot, S. Second St., downtown. Fulton's market features fresh, locally grown vegetables and herbs, quality crafts and occasional entertainment. (315) 598-4231.

  • Hillside Markets Flea Market - New York's oldest antique, flea and farmers' market featuring over 150 vendors. Large flea market features wide variety of antiques, collectibles, crafts, jewelry, tools, woodcrafts, and more. Open weekends and holidays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., May through September, rain or shine.   • Mexico Farmers' Market - - This newer seasonal market will take place Mondays starting on June 4, at 4 p.m. through the week of October 8 (weather permitting) conlcuding at 7 p.m. each evening. The market will be held on the Firemen's Field, on Main Street, in the Village of Mexico. Each week produce, plants, non-profits and craftspeople will be on hand. (315) 963-0642.

  • Oswego Farmers' Market - Oswego's seasonal market is held from 5 to 9 p.m. every Thursday evening June through mid October along W. First St. and in the Civic Plaza, downtown. The market features homegrown produce, homemade baked goods, handcrafted items, entertainment, food and beverages. (315) 343-7681.

  • Pulaski Farmers' Market with Music in the Park - Local farm produce, preserves, regional crafts, and miscellaneous sales. Saturdays, June 16 through September 8, from 3 to 6 p.m. From 6 to 8 p.m. entertainers provide music in the park. South Park, N. Jefferson St. at Lake St. in the Village of Pulaski. (315) 298-6407.

  • Volney Farmers' Market - - This seasonal market is held every Tuesday from June 5 through September 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It offers produce, crafts, hot dogs and cold drinks on the blacktop parking area in front of the Highway Department building, 1445 Co. Parks

  • Battle Island State Park - Located on NYS Rte. 48 north of Fulton, the State Park is a popular attraction in the summer for its 18-hole golf course. (315) 593-3408.

  • Mexico Point State Park - Mexico Point Drive, off NYS Rte. 104B, hamlet of Texas. Beach is open for swimming, weather permitting, mid-June through Labor Day. Admission free. Call (315) 963-8216 or 963-7657.

  • Salmon River Falls - Falls Road, Orwell. View majestic falls from trail or parking lot.

  • Sandy Island Beach State Park - Off Co. Rte. 15, Sandy Creek. Sandy beach between North and South Sandy Ponds offers swimming, picnicking, outdoor activities. Bathhouse. Beach open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends May 26 through June 16, and daily from June 23 to Labor Day. Admission charged. (315) 387-2657.

  • Scriba Town Park - O'Connor Rd. Swimming, picnicking, beach volleyball, paddleboat rentals. Open weekends May 27 through June 23. Park open daily June 23 through August 27, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pool open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 23 to Aug. 26. Admission charged for pool. (315) 343-8107 or 343-1853.

  • Selkirk Shores State Park - Located five miles west of Pulaski on NYS Rte. 3, features 148 campsites, 26 cabins, fishing and recreational facilities, snack bar/store, as well as a sandy beach for family enjoyment. Recreational programs provided. Beach is open for swimming on weekends from Memorial Day through late June and daily from late June through Labor Day, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Entry fee charged. Scenic Byway

Seaway Trail - This 454-mile scenic highway-waterway parallels the St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario, Niagara River, and Lake Erie. America's longest National Recreation Trail, the Seaway Trail is recognized for mixed usage by automobile, boat, motorcoach, camper, and bicycle.
